An ingame clansystem would be a nice addition for this game.
This clansystem could have an ingame roster, like a friendlist, just autoupdated, and some kind of ingame chat for all clanmembers.
Everyone with level 60 can create one, (to prevend a lot of 1 member clans created by new players) give it a name, and a tag, which also get displayed in another color. In this way, no one could just take your clantag in his name.
The members themself can add the clantag by a specific name variable like $CT in there name.
Example:
The clantag is ABC.
The members nickname is Jeff.
Jeffs nickname should be Jeff-:ABC:-, so the nickname he has to type in is:
Jeff-:$CT:- . The default would be just in front with a delimiter.
It should also have some kind of organisationstructur, like leaderpositions, officers and members.
I thing this would be a nice addition for this game.

This kind of system isn't automatically in place, but there are plenty of clans, with clan tags. I guess I don't understand what you exactly want, as this is already occuring in the game.
EDIT: I see, you just want to separate the clan tags and the clan members in the friends list and in-game. I agree with the friends list thing, at least.

I want an ingame system, with a clanroster etc.
Just imagine an additional button under Friends, which is called Clan.
If you click there, you get an overview about your clanmembers, if they are online etc, just like your friendlist.
In addition a clantag system, which makes clantags unfakeable.
As i said, a real clantag would have a different color, like :
[S.F.S.] Varonth -> [$CT] Varonth
If someone not in the clan would try to fake it, it would be:
[S.F.S] Varonth

Ah, I see. I love this idea, given that the clan I'm in is on the very bottom of my friends list.

This has already been suggested before, multiple times I believe.
There's not really anyone opposed to the idea, but it'll take a decent amount of effort from Lamster/Karl.
