Altitude,
A lot has happened since my last post. Restarting a clan has been challenging but I think we are moving in the right direction! SkyGirl has decided to join Sky again. That has been challenging because SkyGirl wants to take control of Sky even though she closed it down and told me I could have it (See old "sky" thread). So, in the process of thinking how we can make this thing work I had an idea that I think would be great! I think it will work! Here is what I am thinking...
Each clan usually has a leader that runs the show and calls the shots across the board. What I find is that person is usually a dictator who kicks people on a whim and who is in love with being in charge. Frankly, I'm sick of that! So, I propose that each member of the six member clan leads in a role. They have their own place where they lead for the overall betterment of the clan and they don't tread where others are leading. The break down might look something like this...
1. One person is in charge of forum and paperwork crap. They right the rules and communicate to the clan when the next battle is, etc.
2. One person is in charge of recruitment. This person gets along with everyone and is good at making friendships and drawing people into the clan.
3. One person is in charge of tryouts. This persons main job is to take the people that are recruited and make sure they are flight worthy. This person should be the best flyer on the team.
4. One person is in charge of encouragement. This person is all about boosting the confidence of a team member. They make sure that everyone gets a "hello, how is your day going" and they tell everyone how great a clan member is where ever the clan member is playing. (In this way everyone will begin to think that Sky clan is the best clan without even realizing it).
5. One person is in charge of clan battle registration and communicating to the paper work person so that everyone can know when the next battle is coming up, how many people we need, etc.
6. The last person is in charge of clan practice. This person would set up scrimmages with other clans and get the clans practicing at the same time every week so that the clan can learn how to play better with each other.
So, the recruiter needs to fill these spots specifically. Everyone is leading some part of the clan and so the clan has all of its basis covered. No one is better than anyone else (no more authority issues) but everyone brings their unique abilities to the team so we can have the best clan on altitude (Even better than ACE)! This is how we are going to do this clan. Anyone can be kicked by a majority vote from the other clan members, or possibly moved to a different role if they are not fulfilling their role correctly.

I think that you are the Leader and should set just a few basic rules, like how to tryout, what you expect from your team members, and if you aren't in favor or rank, then you should just run it the way that you see fit. If you have an issue then you could call for a vote from the whole team. But the vote thing is hard when everyone isn't on at the same time! So I would suggest that you require each new member to join the fourms and add each other as contacts so you can p.m. everyone with the situation at hand and set a given time to respond by, and go from there.

I lied, SkyGirl didn't die in plane crash. She actually hit the eject button from her stupid loopy and forgot the shoot. I think we are still finding pieces of her around Altitude! Girls should not lead, eh?

wow thats nice, and ill help u out with the organization but im not gonna join-too many offers sitting on my head. and yes its a good idea to get rid of the captain leader garbage, ALTHOUGH it is always good to have a good/trustable person as a co-leader (im sry i cant do it) to help when u arent there. besides that, destroy the ranks.

but players like spc or 399 are the real ppl who actually made sky big....
IF you think about to make sky to a bigger/better/whatever clan you should FIRST ask spc and 399 if they would join because without these two guys sky will never work for the long term!!!
IF their join sky, i would do the same....
Furthermore they should be both Captains and cant get kicked out...
(i like the L,C,G ****) & 6-8 max. members
This would be a good "new" start for a successful clan!

Wow, thank you all for your support! Sky is trying to get its name out again and has been trying out people. There are a lot of great noobs out there! Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to all. It has been a challenge to revive this thing and the encouragement goes far! Rules are still coming next week. Tryouts will begin soon after that. 1. No one is "higher in ranking" than anyone else. We are in this together as a team and we bring our strengths to the table for the team.
2. You will fill your role as listed in the "Clan Layout" and not step on anyone else's space. If you get out of your role it will result in an immediate vote towards your dismissal from the clan.
3. You will ALWAYS support SKY clan and speak good of the clan.
4. You can be voted from SKY by a majority rule.
5. You will not gossip about other member in the clan to anyone inside the clan or outside the clan (this happens a lot!).
6. You will notify the other clan members when someone is breaking the rules of the clan so that action can be taken.
7. In order to be in SKY clan you must be on the forums. (This is just so we can keep communication high)
8. You have to be on altitude and the forums at least once a week. If you can't post on the forums that you can't.
9. To be accepted into the clan you must...
...be on forums.
...be recruited by our recruiter.
...tryout and win 2 out of 3 times with our "tryouts" guy.
...be a team player.
...have fun!
...be an awesome flyer on altitude :)
10. The last rule is this, a clan member should strive to get along with everyone (even the jerks who just tick you off...ie. "hitler") so that the clan is known for being good to everyone and the popularity of SKY will grow. Just remember that there are actually people flying those planes and maybe we can affect their day in a great way.
The bottom line is this. We put these rules in place to protect the clan members, as well as the clan from being just another, mediocre, losing, clan. I hate rules as much as the next person but if we can keep these really easy 10 than we should be protected from each other inside the clan and those outside the clan. All members should adhere to the clan rules or the membership will vote on their removal from the clan.
Please not that this a first draft of clan rules and these may change as the clan grows and evolves. Who knows what issues we will be dealing with in the future! Thanks everyone! Have a great day!

A lot has happened since my last post. Restarting a clan has been challenging but I think we are moving in the right direction! SkyGirl has decided to join Sky again. That has been challenging because SkyGirl wants to take control of Sky even though she closed it down and told me I could have it (See old "sky" thread). So, in the process of thinking how we can make this thing work I had an idea that I think would be great! I think it will work! Here is what I am thinking...
Each clan usually has a leader that runs the show and calls the shots across the board. What I find is that person is usually a dictator who kicks people on a whim and who is in love with being in charge. Frankly, I'm sick of that! So, I propose that each member of the six member clan leads in a role. They have their own place where they lead for the overall betterment of the clan and they don't tread where others are leading. The break down might look something like this...

Hey Ghost, I thought about the message you sent me last night about posting the rules and how you would have seniority over me in certain situations ( not your words verbatim ) but anyway, If you remember when you left I welcomed you back in the same capacity that you left in, the only difference is that I was on line more during the times that most of the members were, and had to deal with all of the problems every night, and with no way to communicate with you immediately when a situation came up, I had to make decisions as they came up. I do admit that I did make a big mistake letting doughnut in and putting him in a position to make changes , due to him running off all of the good players but I did recognize that he was a threat to the clan and demoted him immediately when I saw him talk bad a bout Sky calling it a Noob clan and he was going to fix it! Also when he rubbed his rank in the faces of the long time members. So I think I will decline your offer in the capacity that you stated, after all I am and was the Original Sky name, and when I changed my name last night, several people pm'd me saying Sky is back, so obviously I am noticed as the Original Leader of Sky. I will keep my name {Sky} and start over, if you like you can start a spin off like $ky or what ever you desire, but I will not have restrictions on how I run it. If you think about it, I had recruited about % 75 or more of the newer members, you and I got SPC Rules and Juizz together, I was always finding the newer members due to being on consistently more time wise. So I would only expect that you would do the same for me as I did for you asking you back in with no restrictions or Seniority. So I will see ya around no hard feelings but I think one leader is enough anyway in any clan, so this doesn't happen trying to figure out who has more authority over the other.

I don't want anyone to be frustrated especially SkyGirl (who chose to leave the clan and change her name) but sometimes conflict is inevitable. I can't believe we are dealing with this again but in my absence during the holidays the clan got out of control (please read old Sky forum if interested) and SkyGirl called it quits, threw in the towel, and has been trying to make a name for herself/himself since. I took the clan over and have been trying to salvage the clan back, which is no easy task! Recently, I asked her/him to come back and work in full capacity as a leader, but told her/him that when we disagree, I would get preeminence. I thought that was fair since the clan shut down, due to a leadership issue, while I was gone.
I want to say that I was not pulling the "rank card" on SkyGirl. I want for the clan to be a team where everyone has a function and plays their part for the betterment of the clan. We will not be dealing with this type of issue again.
Last thing, to anyone who is interested in working with SkyGirl in the future please note that he/she is moody and can sometimes act without thinking, but is a great fighter. No doubt about it, I was wrong about you and your self stated graciousness, I am not moody, but a leader, which sometimes has the awful task of taking care of business when needed, which was indeed 90% of the time that you were not on line with the rest of the team, nor were you apart of the fourms nor did you join and add me so we could communicate as I had requested. We Sky did it a long (the majority of the time) without you. You never had to face the reality of what actually happened day in and day out as a clan leader, and I do think you will adjust well being that you work with the youth. Just remember that its easy to say that I was moody when you weren't walking in the same shoes that I was and having to make decisions that were very hard in your many absences, but needed decisions. Easy words for anyone to say that didn't have to deal with it. In fact when SPC started the 1st fourm about Sky Recruiting, he listed me then you then the rest of the team because you were rarely there, I was the dedicated one that could always be reached.
Just a simple question? what would you do in the case of a newer player that continually cursing at, provoking and was downright rude to any team or player that we played against? and when confronted he stated to me "F- You" among other verbal attacks. We, I did the following Step 1. Warned the person several times Step 2. Suspended the person for a short period of time and eventually kicked the player, then let them back in for another chance. All of which happened, when guess who was not there nor did I have a way to communicate with you to even get your opinion. I don't think that was moody at all, it was a process which was fair and the player made his choices to continue his behavior that you and I had decided in the beginning to be not acceptable. So I did my part. But then you hear one side of the story and judge me as moody and in an earlier post saying something to the effect of that Sky had changed and was not a dictatorship as you have basically accused me of being.
Spc was a different issue and when I saw you after the one and only incident with him, you sure didn't stand up and say that you thought I was wrong for what I did? I could only assume that you understood the circumstances, just as you have claimed that In the event that you felt it to be necessary that you would veto anything that you felt needed to be changed, I guess you are taking the same role as I did and decided to make a decision, but I'm a moody person for doing that same thing? So I would suggest that when you point the finger at someone look in the mirror before making the comment because your complaints about my decisions describes everything that you have stated about yourself and new process and your veto power.
But the conclusion is simple. You claim ownership to a name that was never yours to begin with. But I have found peace with it, In fact I really hope that you do well and it would be great if the original players found their way back at some point, because after all the clan was very good and had potential to grow into a pro clan.
If you don't mind look back at every time a teacher made you do something that you didn't like and as you matured, you understood why, and eventually the incident seemed justifiable when you understood the full circumstances.
By the way I already knew that you are a pastor, and you know what my profession was, but I don't use that to try to build confidence in my statements here. I have seen and had to do more that most could imagine, so yes I could have been a little short at times when I got repeated request every single night asking to be promoted to a higher rank from at least 2 different players, It got old and I had to stop it, but all you heard was their side and I'm the bad guy for doing what was best for the clan, one of them, Is the one I referenced about the suspension and the very day he was allowed back in he asked to be a captain all night long, I couldn't even play with the team due to the constant chat about being promoted. I really wished you were so concerned then and helped me deal with those players as a co-leader. The reason for asking doughnut in was to help me with the clan which was what I needed from you, but again I rarely saw a Ghost? So when he began his attack within clan wether it was on purpose or due to lack of maturity,which he will always deny. I immediately stopped it. But I'm still the moody one and dictator. Good luck Ghost, I hope you are not faced with the same issues that I had, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
I think you have made it very clear that it is acceptable to make judgements about others without learning all of the facts. I can tell you right now if you keep that attitude, you will not be satisfied with the response that you will get with people and your players. The mirror is a good tool, maybe you should look in it more often.
I will probably come look and your response to this and you will more than likely be able to argue all of the points that I made, but It won't matter anymore to me, because you don't have 1st had information on what I saw and what I had to go through, nor do you, or did you care to discuss any of them with me, you took the word of a few teenagers as the as the Gospel and threw stones at me. I'll be praying for you pastor, plus I've never heard or seen my pastor say or type the words that you do when you are down at yourself when your game is a little off? Like Suck and so on? Before you get your pants in a wad, I'm not claiming that I have never said those words, but when you use your stature of being a pastor to gain respect, maybe you should set a better example in your vocabulary.

But the conclusion is simple. You claim ownership to a name that was never yours to begin with. But I have found peace with it, In fact I really hope that you do well and it would be great if the original players found their way back at some point, because after all the clan was very good and had potential to grow into a pro clan.

I really wished you were so concerned then and helped me deal with those players as a co-leader. The reason for asking doughnut in was to help me with the clan which was what I needed from you, but again I rarely saw a Ghost? So when he began his attack within clan wether it was on purpose or due to lack of maturity,which he will always deny. I immediately stopped it. But I'm still the moody one and dictator. I think you have made it very clear that it is acceptable to make judgements about others without learning all of the facts. I can tell you right now if you keep that attitude, you will not be satisfied with the response that you will get with people and your players. Just a simple question? what would you do in the case of a newer player that continually cursing at, provoking and was downright rude to any team or player that we played against? and when confronted he stated to me "F- You" among other verbal attacks. We, I did the following Step 1. Warned the person several times Step 2. Suspended the person for a short period of time and eventually kicked the player, then let them back in for another chance. All of which happened, when guess who was not there nor did I have a way to communicate with you to even get your opinion. I don't think that was moody at all, it was a process which was fair and the player made his choices to continue his behavior that you and I had decided in the beginning to be not acceptable. So I did my part. But then you hear one side of the story and judge me as moody and in an earlier post saying something to the effect of that Sky had changed and was not a dictatorship as you have basically accused me of being.

I know that Sky has had issues over the past couple of months and it has left a bad taste in everyones mouth (especially mine), but SkyGirl flew off a cliff and crashed and I have taken control. Old Sky is dead and I am now the only member of Sky. Things will be ran differently now and I believe this will be the GREATEST clan in Altitude. I know that some of you got burned but I would like to ask for you guys to give this clan another shot. It is NOT the old clan and we will have the BEST future! I will be posting rules on here in the next few weeks for the new clan. Please post if you have questions/comments. See you in the sky...I'll be the one shooting you down :)

Ghost, its sooo good to see sky up and runing again man, i wish the best for sky and all of their future projects. one thing though: When u said there will be a leader of a part of sky, there could be come some onfusion so i suggest that u make a forum page telling who the leaders of each part of your clan are (optional: you could also explain there roles and restrictions on this said page) so in case there is confusion about who is who,u can always refer to this page to make sure.

A poll about if Girl is crazy. I have had some disagreements in the past with Girl (do not worry, it is all patched up now), but such a personal attack is just wrong. I would not publicly humiliate anyone like this. As much as i am both your friends, I do not think I will ever have it in my heart to forgive u for this. I can just imagine the shock on Girl's face, when she read this. No wonder she has not posted a response. I really hope that you (skyghost) make a sincere apology to Girl and to the rest of the altitude community for this. this is a total outrage, and i still dont want to believe it.

Well you can rest now because this is my final opinion, which is that you remind me of a teenager, every time someone points out a fact! and not hear say as you prefer to do, what you do is what most parents call " running the bases" as soon as someone makes a valid point or complaint about your failure, then you find it necessary to point out others failures to get the attention off of you and back where you want it. As anyone here can see, I have been accused now of having a chemical imbalance and may be crazy, wow way to Judge once again man of the cloth!! I feel that your problem is that you can't justify your actions in relation to the real situation that happened because it really shows what you are made of. By the way I said profession you decided to state that you are a pastor, which was very much intended in my opinion to gain respect due to your position and to attempt to sway any opinions in your favor, wow a preacher calling someone chemically imbalanced, or maybe crazy? I though pastors prayed for people like that rather than hand out a personal attack when you cant handle a legitimate debate on what the truth is. lol Obviously I can judge too but I'll handle it differently, I'll remain convicted to what I know as the truth, and I can take it, feel free to punch me a few more times, I'll turn the other cheek.

Thank you Doughnut, and I did speak about the issues that we had again in this thread due to Ghost posting a private message that I wrote to him about what happened when it happened. I felt that his definitions were a bit off. I do confirm to Ghost that we have in fact worked through those issues and we are good. I regret having to bring them back up due to the countless amount of finger pointing that Ghost has focused on me to make himself look like the perfect one.
The sad thing is that in this thread he openly admits that he is a pastor, preacher minister which ever he chooses to be called and if you will look at the pasted information that he just posted it says " You can't believe what people post, can you? "man of the cloth"...lol I sure hope he meant the differently than it sounds, because at face value it appears that he is denying that he is a man of the cloth which is a term for preacher, at least from where I come from. But I will give him the benefit of the doubt and think that he said that out of hast or simply a miss communicated thought. I refuse to do to him what he has done to me, I have simply stated the facts to him as I was there and he wasn't.

I am sure that they will grant you your wish to close your thread, as I would want them to do that for me, but Im a bit confused due to there has been simple discussion and disagreements about what the truth is? I could see the reason if someone came on here cursing you or making an idle threat, but I am really glad that you flagged this, it only confirms to me that you are seeing the big picture especially since you were the one placing the poll about my sanity which if anyone had a valid reason to complain, it would be me due to the attack on my character by stating that you felt that I had a chemical imbalance and thought I was crazy.
In my opinion I really think that this is proof in the pudding that you feel like you are losing the confidence that you had in the past since your poll is over 75% in my favor including Doughnuts comment that he pushed the wrong button. So I can understand the want for damage control and wanting all of this to go away. I think it's a good move on your part. But the good thing for me is everyone got to see the information directly from me and not how you stated it which was 2nd hand information or rumor. I'm sure that if you personally asked Doughnut he would confirm my statements, he seems like he has learned from this also as we acted like men and forgave each other and got past it all.
Good Luck in he Future Ghost and Im sure that this has made better men of both of us.

I must agree that this is stupid, but we are human and have the natural instinct to defend our own credibility, I'm sure this could go on forever but it wont. If you would accept my sincere apology I would be grateful. No matter what has happened you have and will always have a friend if you need one.

I must agree that this is stupid, but we are human and have the natural instinct to defend our own credibility, I'm sure this could go on forever but it wont.
