when ever i start up the game it fails to log me in and goes to a small table saying connection problem even when i am connected to the internet.
I have configurared my firewall to allow traffic from port 27272. I have never had this problem till recently so it is rather strange :L
Can anyone assist me in my time of need? :P
thanks,
Prune

I am actually having the same problem, so you're not alone Prune :)
It was working fine like 10 hours ago, but the past few hours, it keeps giving the connection error. I checked my port forwarding, and it seems ok.

I am constantly having this problem on and off. I found out that the hard way around it is to uninstall altitude, and reinstall it.
Altitude Staff, please look into this problem. Its - annoying when we don't get proper tech support for something as urgent as "CAN'T PLAY"!!

c'mon, its obvious a bunch of us are having this problem. Please post a general fix for this problem.

Unfortunately there is no general fix to most of these problems, they reflect regional connection issues. The master server is in Chicago, USA -- intermittent connection problems are almost always caused by regional connection problems routing from your local ISP to our master server. If there is a specific region that is experiencing connection problems related to our server (e.g. not traffic shaping by your ISP or general traffic limitations from your region to the US) our bandwidth providers may be able to resolve the issue by contacting their network peers. In that case we will need to know the country you are connecting from, and we'll need a full trace route:
Start -> Run -> Cmd
tracert vapor.nimblygames.com
Wait for the trace route to finish.
Using your mouse, left click and drag to select the results.
Right click to copy the selected results to the clip board.
Email the results to support@nimblygames.com

lamster,
the problem is fixed with REINSTALLING, often to another folder such as /program files/Altitude2 and Altitude3 and Altitude4 etc....
i'm on Altitude7 now :P, reinstalling works EVERYTIME!!
i'm saying it has nothing to do with ISP.
Well, maybe when i do get out of this internet ****hole and get back to australia i won't see this problem anymore... we'll see.

Sorry SkyTiger, I was looking at the other threads you linked which appear to be completely different issues. If reinstalling is the only solution it seems very likely that your problem is related to a local firewall of some sort (whether Windows7 built-in or some anti-virus / security product you are running). Are you certain that it's not strictly sporadic internet access -- e.g., when your latest fresh install starts working have you tried going back and launching Altitude3 to see if it now works as well?

I'm sure the links i gave are seeing a similar problem.
My first experience with this problem was when I posted my thread. I tried to set up my connection etc for 2 days all attempts to set up forwarding does not work. Then i tried reinstalling. VIOLA! immediately solved.
The other 6 times i faced this problem, all i had to do for instant solution was reinstalling.
It could be my windows7 problem. But if anyone else can't resolve this issue, try uninstalling, and reinstalling on another folder. Do feedback here whether it works for you.

Very strange -- are you running Windows 7 as well Prune?
Could you guys both email log files from both an old, non-functional installation (e.g. everything under ~Altitude/log), and also the files from a new, currently-functional installation (e.g. ~Altitude2/log) to support@nimblygames.com?
