For players that have reached level 60, there should be an option to do prestige. For players that do do prestige, there should be awards, such as community points, for how many times it is accomplished.

none of that should hapend ( I Mean I would like to have to lvl 80)
but the CP awarding...CP = COMMUNITY points it is not player points or something...CP are awarded for your helping the community spread with you posting links on Facebook, twitter etc...not by lvling up, how would leveling help the community??? think about it

the levels are set according to the perks and planes available to unlock. unless there were more perks and planes then the levels would increase. community points are to help the community expand not for individual in-game accomplishments like veritas said(this has been discussed in other threads.) i like the idea though for there to be prestige but this too has been discussed in other threads. try searching the forums. :D

This idea has been brought up before in another suggestion thread. Lam and karl are apparently going to be implementing something like this in the future when they have time.

But what about people that don't get any community points because they don't have anyone clicking on their posts? I mean it can be hard to get points if no one pays attention to them. I know I won't get very many more points because I know none of my friends will click on the links.

The point here is that you don't have to have those skins. They are an added bonus that have no effect on gameplay. They are purely a motivation for people to get more players for the game, and if there were other ways to achieve the same skins then less people would actually spread the word and the game would receive less new players.

Here's an idea: What if you get a special skin for prestige that is not available with community points? Just a suggestion.

i have posted this message on a countless amount of threads regarding easy ways for members to receive community points in-game. i dont understand y every1 is wasting their time/effort to get the community points in-game. dont bother, thats not the purpose of community points.

They're not giving in to anything, and no one is begging. Lam and Karl actually listen to the community for ways to improve Altitude and it seems a prestige system is what the community wants. Therefore, it's been added to their very long to-do list. But it's not like Lam and Karl are forced to devote every possible moment of their lives into developing patches and features and whatnot for us. They're allowed to have lives, you know.

Thank you gemigemi for pointing out that it is

COMMUNITY points

Anyway, who cares about skins? They don't give you an extra perk slot, or extra damage, do they? Who cares if your plane looks cooler. Actually, I got off-point. I love the skins, but they don't affect gameplay.
