As a member of this community and an avid player i am disappointed at the way in which some people treat newer players. :(
The only time i have been kicked from a pro league server is on matchday when admins need to make room for team members to play, absolutely justified.
The thing that really grates me, ill give an example and not for the want to tell tale but names are important so perhaps the people in question can learn from this;
Mr.one-2 and his newly formed team were having a team practice in Pro 2, fair enough, pro league servers are kindly run for this purpose among others.
A fairly new player who i added as a friend because i enjoyed playing with him asked me for the passcode to PL2. I know from playing with him for a while he doesn't spam and is polite, but as most new players are slightly ignorant to the 'unwritten' rules of Pro servers.
I was spectating the practice session when my friend, 'serpent' {and a darn good loopy} joined the server. He then joined the game. He was then kicked almost immediately without being asked to spectate or leave.
Can we please adopt a 'innocent until proven guilty' attitude because i for one don't want to be tarred with the same brush only to be called an 'elitist pro' and alienated from our newer players.
Thoughts please.

Yeah, the elitist dickishness is pretty ridiculous at times. I don't think there's really anything to be done about it, though. You can't police the servers 24/7. :(

There are only a few players that I've seen that get really uppity. When they start up, I know I've given them warnings to calm down, along with other people.
I'm wondering though, who kicked Serpent? I've talked to Mr.One-2 and he seems to be polite and very patient. It's very unlike him to kick someone without a warning.

1-2 is fine i haven't had a problem with him either really, i fail to remember the name of the person who initiated the kick however vote kick passes with 5 out of 7 i.e the people who voted no were me and serpent.

well for this case I should say - that it was definitely wrong to kick the player without any warning, since a new player can't know the scrim/capt games rules (I mean that he must not enter the game, when other's are playing) - I was personally kicked like that half a year ago...and didn't get a clue what I did wrong...
but anyway - if they were scriming and someone entered the game and disturbed them by that - I think it's a pretty legitimate reason to kick someone...
although here's another problem - I noticed a couple of times that several teams kick spectators when they're scriming for no reason. I find this very wrong...but can't really see how this may be solved.

I know that whenever I give out the Captains password that the people are clearly instructed on the rules of the server. The servers are password protected so I can't really understand how people go in there and then when things don't go their way they complain about it. The password should be an indicator that maybe it's a privilege that they are able to use the server at all.
As for the original post, Class should have told his friend about general rules of conduct when he so freely gave out the password to a protected server. Sounds like he just gave it out without thinking and just sent his friend to do whatever he wanted.

We warned serpent something like a minute before kicking him, and, I didn't call any vote, I just voted yes cause he was a bit annoying.
Btw, class has been so bad mannered and unpolite, swearing on us with words like "u are dicks" etc etc.
After that, I-ve added serpent to my friends and apologizing for what happened (obviously pulled by class who had a unexplainable reaction), and then I invited him to join us and we had fun together. Ask him, it's true.

People that join PL servers should ask before joining a game. I don't find anything wrong with this. Someone joins a private server and imbalances an ongoing game. Result? He gets kicked. He wasn't banned or anything, he got a 2 minute time out.

That's right what happened. Class way-to-think is not the only thing which is wrong in this, but the way as he acted; you dicks, asshole ecc ecc is not th right way to argue about something like that. Being unpolite as he did is the best way to ruine anybody's fun, over your own
reputation and shape.

5 is the key I'm hitting more often in the last times when a vote is called
and I don't know why. Class, maybe the vote was called too early, but he has already been worried.

5 is the key I'm hitting more often in the last times when a vote is called
and I don't know why. Class, maybe the vote was called too early, but he has already been worried.

I am not trying to "take a dig at you." I just found it surprising that someone as yourself, who has been around for quite a long time, came onto the forums and made this kind of post. Usually it is some younger kid who is a new player and didn't full understand the whole password protected server rules. But for you, you have been around, you have seen those very posts! You even said yourself that you didn't explain any of the rules to this player that you gave the password to. I think I had a fair reaction to your post considering how long you have been here and how active you are on the forums. I think honestly you should know better and your reaction wasn't very well thought out.

actually, i agree with you. Someone should develop like a disclaimer type thing for new players that would be linked in game to describe the unwritten rules of server etiquette.

Okay okay okay, maybe the reason for the OP was not well thought out, but can we just take this thread as a "You should be nicer to the new players and explain things to them so they don't screw up as much" thing? A lot of the newbs get shot down (pun intended :p) these days because they makes simple, common mistakes and instead of having the rules explained to them, the get yelled and and kicked.
When I was a noob, I camped a lot. I can't imagine why I would have done such a thing now, but I did it back then. Eventually, someone was nice enough to explain that bomb-camping is selfish, rude, and counter-productive without screaming at me or kicking me. I stopped camping and started looking at the way I play more critically, a skill which has helped me to grow (albeit slowly) as a player and a member of this community. Explaining things to the newbs and helping them grow in this way is ESSENTIAL to the survival of this game.

I am not sure about the Proleague servers but the Captains Games server is set so that you have to be level 60 to enter. Maybe that might be the wisest choice for the Proleague servers so that we run into this type of situation less.

If you're invested in a match and worried about someone randomly joining and messing it up - I mean, if it matters that much that - then why not have startTournament on? Its a simple vote.
As for the topic at hand - yeah, if you give out the password, give them a rundown of the rules. Its nice for them and for the people in the server.

I've found a lot of the new players come in and feel its okay to disreguard what you're telling them, and only when a votekick is launched do they go why??

Not really, OneTwo and others would have the chat logs - it would be relatively easy to post the contents so it really isn't the case of "my word against yours"

Leave this be, it's only the good will of Tec that the servers are even up during offseason. He and the admins allow you to scrim whenever you want there. Just have fun and play, no need to be all protective about some silly situation.

Agreed. This is just a game. People just want to have fun (or at least that's my view).
But sometimes it IS necassary to kick newer players who won't do what you're asking them to. I have yet to see a newb just pop into a server and imediatly(excuse the spelling) get kicked without some well thought out reason that can, and usually is, justified.
