Hi
I know there are many german players on the Altitude game(me too :)).
In german language are ä, ö, ü and ß very important. But in the Altitude game, you cant write them :(.
It would be nice, if they are in the next update or something...
(Im sorry, my english is pretty bad. I hope you can read it :D)

I kinda second this, since same goes for é è à ù ç, which are used in french. Not a big deal but it would be pretty nice.
And also fix the stat screen (since I imagine the problem is about the same) for us europeans, so it doesn't show questionmarks anymore instead of commas, and commas instead of points.

Adding 1 of the things requested means adding all of them.. UNICODE has full support. I have no idea how much work that'd be though.. and there's a lot cooler things than being able to write your native language imo :p

Come on guys...as amusing as your comments may be this is obviously a serious suggestion.
It's not like its a stupid thread such as "How do I shoot bots" or "People keep killing me and I can't kick them". THOSE are the threads you trash before they get closed lol.
But I think adding too many dictionaries changes the gameplay too much because I find it irritating when people come on and say insulting things in other languages to other people. I can cop it but it comes down to respect.
Maybe in hindsight, if alternate languages and character-sets are supported, they can be an option when a server is created to set the default character-set for the players within that server. That way, German servers (WOO germans - vogez = vogel) can have german accents enabled as default to make the server more region-friendly.

So someone saying "re malaka" is more insulting than someone saying "you asshole"? I mean you don't even need UNICODE to say re malaka, which is what this thread is about. People are talking spanish ingame already, what this would do is enable them to write señor instead of senor or whatever.

What people don't understand is that some words have completely diiferent meaning with an accent. For example in my language "esta" means "this" refering to a feminin noun (yes, nouns have genders in portuguese and all roman languages), but "está" is the 3rd person of the verb "to be" so it would be extremely confusing for someone reading "esta" instaed of "está". I always write with correct grammar and spelling, even in text messages and in MSN. It bugs me that I can't write properly in my language.

I get your example of word usage, but can't you just figure out the meaning of the word by it's context? I highly doubt you are going to write a sentence and later you are gonna think "oh man I mean to say to be instead of this!!!" There are all kinds of things like this in language, but we use context to figure it out. In English there are many words that can be pronounced 2 different ways and mean two different things but are spelled the same. We use context to determine the meaning of these heteronyms.

The worst part is that if you type it correctly, first the accent and then the letter, the letter won't show up. It really gets on my nerves because I write a sentence without even thinking about it and when I look at the sentence, I realise I missed 6 or 7 letters.
