The past few times that I have been on Arena FUN Ball USA there has been a player named "The Nigger Guy". A few others, and myself, found it offensive, and kept trying to kick him by using votekick....
but no one would push 1...
what is going on in this world to think that a name like that is ok, and secondly...
who wouldn't want to band together in a united/diplomatic exercise in the denouncing of such 'slurs'? ...I guess kids who don't give a f%$&, and just want to play a videogame (hellofa game by the way...well worth the 10 bucks!)?????
anyway, thanks for letting me rant; but while i'm at it...seriously:
racist language,
mom jokes (they're funny 'til you lose your own mom, trust me),
and other sexist bull****,
IS NOT COOL PEOPLE, TRES NOT COOL...
maybe when you're young they sound funny, or get rises out of the people you like to bug... but when you grow up and get educated, you will learn that these words and references are detrimental to a cohesive/peaceful society that works to benefit all people,
including yourselves!
Please respect....that can't be too much to ask?
Thanks :)

I remember seeing him playing on Official TBD servers, he gets kicked promptly. As for the mom jokes, yeah I agree with you, I'm also sensitive to them but I guess it's just fun don't take it seriously.
EDIT: To be fair I do get pissy myself at times, nerdrage gets the best of me :)

Don't try and police the internet, it'll never work and you'll end up more frustrated than if you just take it easy.

Probably the same guy who used to masquerade as "Adolf Hitler." Some people thought it was funny and others were offended or just thought it was stupid. He didn't usually get kicked though many attempts were made.

I uderstand your argument DF. it is quite possible that the "N" word is not as offensive to the global community that altitude host.
I am an african american and it drives me nuts. I sometimes just leave and go to another server. There are a few other playeres with names that are racially offensive that get the same treatment.
Too bad he is not a horrible player or he wold never get to play.

it would be a shame to think that the same people who work together, pass balls amongst teammates, rally against an enemy, can't find it within themselves to extend these notions of nobility, sharing, leadership, and brotherhood, to their own lives, and the lives of others in the same online community...

Yeah.
Look, you're basically dealing with a community made predominantly of 15s and under, and they're on the internet, meaning no consequences and anonymity, so you're getting the full immaturity potential.
There's no great injustice going on here, its just a bunch of stupid kids being stupid kids. You don't need to turn them to the light, just ignore it!
If you've got these grand feelings of equality to dole out, maybe you should campaign in the real world instead of trying to bridle teen gamers.
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I just want to make the point that no matter how well you write it, kids are going to be kids and you're going to be sorely disappointed if you can't accept that.

Well, I've certainly seen some online communities be extremely well behaved because of aggressive moderation. Whether that's a good thing or not is debateable, though. :o
On a different note, that guy's name is a reference to a South Park episode. It's not as offensive as it looks at first glance.

Options -> Account -> Filter Swear Words works on names as well.
