that's strange, do the axises work in other programs/games? maybe it's a driver problem. we dont have a ps3 controller we can test with...
we'll add some debug code to print all the axises, buttons etc so then you can submit a bug report and we'll take a look.

Hi,
I've got the same problem with Linux and a P990 Saïtek Dual analog gamepad. The buttons are working well but directions and pov don't work.
My pad is working with other games. I didn't see anything about pad in the logs.

Hi,
I am om linux with logitech cordless rumblepad 2. The buttons are working well and i can setup them. But directions and pov don't work!!! i can fire but i can not change direction.
Trying to setup doesnt work , when i press direction the game doesn't recognize the button.
The controler is working fine, under kde - system seting - input device setting i see how the axis move, butons get pressed...

Hey there!
I play with a PS2 controller and I normally use the Directional pad to turn (left and right) and R1 and R2 to decelerate/accelerate, but when I want to play with the analog sticks, 'Analog' on the PS2 controller has be on (the red light/button on the bottom of the controller). Not sure if it is the same thing for you, but just an idea!
