Individual Plane Levels & Campaign Mode page 1

I like the unlock items as you level up, and that can stay, but also add in another level up system for the planes themselves, for example:
-Playing as the Loopy-
Each kill: +10 (yellow text)
Underneath it: +5 (red text)

The yellow text will be what it is now.
The red text will be your plane's EXP, each time you level up on your plane, your turn rate, speed, health, and energy are increased by a certain amount.

I don't know what the EXP Table is, but the max level for a plane could be 15 and multiply the EXP Table of the General Levels 1-15 4x.

Meaning:
General EXP Level 1- 0/100
Plane EXP Level 1- 0/400

But you can only level up your play during online play and only by killing enemies and getting the round bonus.

This will hopefully add more game time to the game.

-------------

My other suggestion is a Campaign Mode.
After the Tutorial, you can have the choice to start a 10+ Chapter Campaign Mode on EASY, MEDIUM, HARD, or EXPERT.

The Campaign Mode can give you the ability to unlock more perks for your plane. Each Campaign has 1 perk add on in it, but you have to find it by killing other planes and collect it if it drops.
--Perks will only drop in Medium or Hard mode.--
--More likely to drop on Hard mode.--

You cannot, however, level up in this mode. It is just to unlock new offensive, defensive, and energy perks.

Each perk will have its level requirement, as they do right now. As you venture further into the Campaign, higher level perks become available.

This is to just add some more unlocking gameplay and to add a bigger variety of what your plane can do.

There might be a problem, however, with the offensive perks. Each of the 5 planes come with different offensive perk (I think they all have the same defensive and energy perks), so what I would suggest is to make all of the offensive perks drop in the same Campaign, each plane has its own Campaign, or make the offensive perks something each plane can use.

Thoughts on these?

I'm not sure what lamster/karl's plans are for altitude, but I think the game is more or less finished in the sense that theyre not gonna add/change anything big. A campaign mode would be a ****load of work and change the game a lot.. this is mainly a multiplayer game. Unlocking stuff from playing vs bots in a multiplayer game is also pretty.. weird.

Having planes be weak as hell at lvl 1 is probably not a good idea since newbs will be even more turned off when they just get oneshot with no chance of fighting back.

Very Creative Idea..

That would make the game more interesting for sure,
but I have no clue about how much work it would take to do that?

Planes would have the same stats as they do now when they are level one.
--I didn't even play Multiplayer until I had the Miranda Plane.

Even now, planes don't get oneshot at level 1 unless they just press the down arrow key right in front of a plane.

Lots and lots of time. I wish I could help, but I don't know coding or whatever they are using.

Maybe it could be a $5 Downloadable Content Package.

Better yet, they could work on it without telling us so we don't know it's coming until it's here.

I love the Campaign idea. But, unlocking new perks while in it, not so much. You should have a campaign mode either just for fun, but, that would be gay cause its a multiplayer game. I co-op campaign with up to 5 other planes would be cool. Like, you put your account code into a server or something and then it puts you into the campaign mode. If another user puts his acount in, you guys play together. Destroy the base before something happens. I don't know, sounds cool to me.

An online co-op version would be awesome to say the least.

Since some people wouldn't like the perks, maybe some medals/achievements to show you completed Campaign X (chapter(s)). Nothing special... just for fun as you said, but also bringing in a "Oh, I gotta get the achievements!" type of play.

An online co-op version would be awesome to say the least.

Sort of like the new CoD:MW2, but... with more planes.

--Both:
Choice of 4 player Co-Op/Single Player Campaign. More the planes higher the difficulty. Single Player, you chose the difficulty you want. Co-Op, auto difficulty or chose the difficulty you want if you and a friend want to take on the Campaign (you and him; 2 planes) on EXPERT Mode.

I've always thought that more individual plane achievements would be cool. I don't think they should affect plane performance (or else all the beta people would be horrendously OP), but it would be nice to see things like "Biplane Bomber achievement" or "Most Helpful Loopy achievement". I think it would keep people interested in the game and encourage the steam noobs to pick a plane and stick with it rather than changing aircraft 50 times a match.

Beta players... they're still OP. Even level 60s are OP. The unbalanced thing about this game is the dedicated servers. Anyone can go in one unless the owner (if smart) makes a level cap setting (which I've seen this done once). Level 60s go against level 1s, etc.

Yea, there's not many achievements, but why call them "steam noobs" you have the game, too, don't you? Maybe not on Steam, but you have it. I'm sure you've changed planes while playing the game, too. Don't flame the "steam noobs." I take it offensive seeing as I've gotten many games from Steam and they've kept me satisfied. This, however, I didn't buy on Steam because it isn't working properly at the moment, when it does, though, I will be sure to put it on Steam (add non-steam game...).

Please keep it on topic. I can see it going both ways.
1. You like to play random to get all achievements.
2. You're arguing which class is better. (off topic)

To all:
Please keep on topic, do not flame any company (such as Steam), discuss, and remember this is not a console > PC < console flame war.
--Any of these broken and your post, from now on, will be reported.--

-----Disregard if Wanted-----

Steam is a good way of giving gamers what they want and when they want it. This is, in my opinion, one reason why PC is better than the xBox/PS3. You avoid the lines that last days for the new Call of Duty/Halo and just get to Click, Buy, Install, Play right from your PC.

Now xBox/PS3 may have upgraded their systems to where you can do this. I am not to sure how they work seeing as I do not own either one of them. I do, however know you can buy some (if not all) games on the PS3 because my friend owns one and we have gotten a game at the Playstation Network. Granted, it wasn't one of the Game of the Year games, it was still a fun play.

Happy Holidays.
