Keeping track of name changes page 1

It think it would be nice if you could somehow keep track of 'buddies' or name changes on your friend list. Currently, I have about 85 people on my friend list. Although I don't talk to most of them on a regular basis, I will accept new players' requests to help them feel more welcome. Compared to some people 85 friends is not a lot, but it still gets confusing when someone changes his name. If you perhaps had the ability to add a personalized note for each buddy (like they implement in online poker applications) or see a list of a buddy's recent name changes (might be too extensive), the problem would be at least partially ameliorated. Another idea I have is to have the ability to compartmentalize your buddy list like AIM does (e.g. "Teammates," "ACE," "Friendly Noobs," etc.). These are just a few of my thoughts, as the current iteration of the friends list is tailored more toward the smaller-community beta Altitude.

I think having groups is a great idea since a lot of people, myself included, like to change names a lot. At least you would have a clue who the person you are playing is.

Anything would be helpful at this point. People change names all the time and I can't keep track. I know that the VaporIDs are being used to access those names so implementing some type of system shouldn't be that hard. This is where having a Modder's UI would be really helpful I think.

Like I said in a previous thread, the way steam does it is the best. You can right click on a friends name and view their previous aliases

This is a good idea. I removed some 300 friends months ago, because I knew who they were...not. So either make like Steam, or put your friends list in categories, which would be awesome.
