Loopy DF Discussion page 1

There seems to be an issue with loopy DF, but i dont want to open an other topic to whine about a plane and say "OMG it is OP nerf it". I just want to talk about it and show you some screenshots i took.

Two screenshots are about ball and so the loopy fest is predictable especially in a map like football, but still why should there be so many loopys around?

It's fun to fly fast and shoot homing missiles. Loopy will probably always be my favorite plane.

Simple answer: tracking. It's like bouncy, people will do whatever seems to take the least effort.

I'm not really sure what you're getting at. If you're trying to insinuate that loopy DF is overpowered, then you're going to have to come up with better evidence than 3 screenshots, 2 of which come from bouncy wall ball noob servers. And in all 3 of your screenshots, loopys aren't even the "best" performers, they're miranda/bomber/explos.

If your post is taking quite literally and your asking why there are so many loopys, then its because you seem to generally be in beginner / novice servers where loopys are popular. If you move on, say to a league game, loopys are not as rampant.

Loopy is probably a little OP in Ball games. I think people exaggerate this a little, but it's a legit concern.

It's definitely, absolutely, nowhere in the realm of being OP in any other mode. If anything, it's the weakest plane. It's just the easiest to scrape together some kills with if you're not very good.

I wrote that two screenshots come from ball servers, and i do not usually play there due to that, its not an issue for competitive play imo but still every time i join official 1-3 i see loopy is the most used plane. The problem is that it makes it really annoying to play a game against a team made up of 5/7 DF. I wouldnt care about this if i played all day in captain games server with competitive people, but since this isnt possible due to the lack of online players at certain times i sometimes play in pub servers, and i want to fix this loopy issue.

EDIT: Its not about loopy, its about DF.

I like to rock double shields to stop those double-fire loopies. And it doesn't even take a hack. =P

This is possibly the stupidest loopy-whining thread yet, which is saying something.

TRACKING MAKES LOOPY EFFORTLES, NARF IT! Yes by all means remove tracking entirely and make EMP last one tenth of a second longer. That's a trade I'll take any day.

Guys. I was thinking, what if the loopy fired in ALL DIRECTIONS. This way, you wouldn't even need tracking anyway, because the bullets would go everywhere. Kill two birds with one stone, right?

All of this is negated by being super easy to kill. Unless the flippy has armor on, it can be insta killed by any plane. Explodet missile mine combo, biplane DF (doublefire biplane =p), miranda pew warp combo, or bomber "press f" technique. I was super pissed at loopys when I was new but now they usually just pad my ratio, nom. Planes/setups with higher skill ceiling will offer much better rewards which will eventually be apparent to you.

I just saw a "veteran" today playing DF with rubber. If you have position you cant get killed, you just hit the walls a bit while escaping and survive. If you can unload your missiles and not get caught right away you just bounce of to freedom :(

I know that. I'm not saying loopy is OP in general but there is actually a problem with DF since every time i join official servers there are about 8DF loopys in there and thats when they start to become annoying. Plus the randa has even less health than loopy. And i actually played this game for a long time so i know about competitive play etc.

Equipping rubber hull is totally worth it for the rage quits alone.

Its super easy to stay alive with loopy.

Totally man. The trick is to circle above base all game long, and when enemies come you just sneak of to somewhere with a ****load of turrets. I've had great results with this so far.. you don't get that many kills but hey, at least you don't die.

But yeah, first ball game I joined I did not see more than one player who did not use Loopy.

The real problem?

The real problem is the playerbase. I can use tracker and do better than the dozen dual loopies, both in k/d and in the objective.

But, the Loopy is extremely overrated. A good Explodet, on any map besides the pants-on-head retarded Football map, completely dominates a pure loopy team. DF or not. Acid is actually more of a threat than DF is.

To reduce the amount of loopies, they just have to take away the autoaim.

If autoaim should stay:
Reduce the damage and every non tracker missiles just autoaims if it got fired after the lock-on.
All other rockets fired before the lock-on, just fly straight as before.

Just 3 tiny suggestions:

- Add recoil
- Remove aimbot
or
-Reduce HP
