The Teamliquid StarLeague 2, A.K.A. TSL2 is arguably the biggest non-korean Starcraft league ever, with over 20k$ of total prize reward.
The sponsor is PokerStrategy.com
Some of you may remember our excitement on the TL thread when the TSL2 was announced.
Well, after the very competitive ladder stage which selected the top48 participants, tomorrow marks the beginning of the second stage of the TSL, where these 48 guys start playing each other. There are 12 groups of 4 players, and only one in each group can advance to the final stage of the TSL.
If you're interested in seeing the group composition, please follow this link (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=107963).
The position of each player in the group was determined by their final position in the ladder stage.
New broadcasts next weekend !
We've got four Bo5 games. These are the final matches of 4 qualifier groups, so the winner of each will advance to the ro16 of the TSL.
Here's the schedule :
Saturday, January 16th, 2010
Broadcast: 11:00 PST / 14:00 EST / 20:00 CET
mouz.MaNa < Bo5 > [Pan]CaStrO
GosI[Terran] < Bo5 > mTw.iNfeRnaL
So we've got respectively here a PvZ and a TvP.
While these players may not be the most famous players in the TSL, they are certainly skilled and I personally can't wait to see the match between Mana and Castro.
Sunday, January 17th, 2010
Broadcast: 11:00 PST / 14:00 EST / 20:00 CET
RoX.KIS.Fenix < Bo5 > iG.Casper
ToT)Mondragon( < Bo5 > Shaman
PvT and ZvT.
Mondragon, the powerhouse from Germany is finally getting some TV time after his brutal and unexpected elimination from TSL1 in the ro16.
So yeah, these matches should be really good. Especially since ZvT is my personal favorite match-up.
Don't miss those matches !
Why I'm posting this here is because as you know, some of us here discovered Altitude from Teamliquid, and most of us will probably watch this TSL. You can watch with us and we'll comment each game on #tl.altitude on quakenet (IRC).
If you don't know Starcraft well, it's not really a problem, since there will be two guys who will be commentating this in English on the stream, and they were already there for TSL1, and I can tell that they give extremely good strategic insight while being extremely easy to understand at the same time.
So really, don't miss this, because it'll be awesome. :)
(don't hesitate to ask here if you want more info or have questions or whatever)

Man, I remember when IdrA had first got his lodgings with that team and I was like 'for serious, IdrA? for serious?' but then he had that game against who was it, July or something, I don't remember, and then he still lost but played amazing.
So yeah, IdrA's okay by me I guess now. Still Harry Potter though.
I kinda stopped following Starcraft after GOM got shut down by KeSPA though. Assholes.

stork is a person? Cuz my Starcraftiness just failed me on the jargon-roll. Must make my saving throw on Google!
Oh, nvm. It wasn't jargon.

I play terran. But I'm relatively bad. I mostly watch rather than play.
There are a few very good players though here. Apathy from fLb is something like B- or B (ranks on iccup go from D- to A+ (I'm skipping the new E- rank and olympic) I personally am somewhere around D+ or C- if I practice non-stop for 2 weeks). Zidane is probably like C. And I don't really know about the others. I think Cloud, Stormich, Pholon are about my level. Eth is maybe a little bit better.

Videos are interesting despite me never having played Starcraft before.
I'll wait until starcraft 2 comes out before the 10% chance I begin playing though.

Yeah there's a big difference between watching SC and actually playing it. My multi-tasking sux so badly so whenever I play a game it feels very fast, very hectic, and I often manage to forget to do something like queueing up more marines/medics/tanks, transferring SCVs to newly built expantions, etc but its still fun. Watching flash own jaedong and then calm, on the other hand, is a whole 'nother level of awesome. Movie stands no chance vs flash. None at all.
