These are just a few ideas I had on new planes (ignore the names I gave them):
1. The Healer/Attribute Raiser (I got this idea from WOW instances)
This plane doesn't attack at all, it simply provides either healing to nearby planes or increases their attributes (planes deal more damage, can move faster, etc.); as soon as a plane leaves a certain radius around the special plane all attribute bonuses are lost.
Perhaps the new plane could choose when to use its increases: pressing F heals nearby planes for x seconds; pressing D increases other attributes for nearby planes for x seconds.
2. The Attribute Lower
This is basically the opposite of the first plane. F decreases defensive strength of nearby planes; D decreases attributes of nearby planes
- - -
Now both planes would probably have to be extremely weak and there would maybe even have to be a limit of like 1 per team or something.
Most of you will probably shoot this down (pun intended), but it might be something to consider.

I would definitely like to have a pure support plane in altitude, but a new plane probably won't happen for a long time to come. There are things higher up on the priorities list than a new plane to play with, such as new ways to earn community points, skins and other stuff to spend those points on, and a prestige system with a new emblem instead of the 5 gold stars (although I think you'll be able to buy emblems with community points, which would make the prestige emblems less special).

Come on guys, this is Altitude. The point is it isn't WOW, it's not a RPG. There is no need for different 'classes' of planes. I don't think new planes will be implemented anytime soon. More likely changes of perks.

Actually the planes are classes.
Whale is the tank
Biplane is high-DPS fighter or sniper
Miranda is sniper
Bomber is area control
Loopy is an all-around support plane
A "doctor" plane wouldn't be terribly out of place, but I agree there are more important things.

Personally, I really like the idea, and it is about 100x more valid than most plane suggestions. Perhaps as a tweak to what you mentioned, the planes you mentioned could be summed together as the different red perks of one plane.
One thought though is that altering speed and turning ability of a plane haphazardly could be quite anti-productive, as it might create crash scenarios for planes in the middle of maneuvers. Also, increasing defense isn't very different than healing, so I think the general "attribute" increase would be better suited to just an attack increase. This would be a valid stat to boost in running and defense situations, and alone wouldn't be overpowered.
My thoughts for the red perks would be as follows:
Archangel: This takes advantage of the attribute raise effect. As you mentioned, f will create a healing effect. While the radius of effect would need to be toyed with, 3 plane length radius sounds like a decent starting point. the d attack would be an attack raise, as mentioned above, in the same radius. As you fly the plane, the radius in which you can effect other planes could be faintly glowing, an effect similar to that of when you first spawn, to make it clear what planes you are affecting and which you aren't. In my mind, the attack raise would be awesome for defensive holds, since typically large groups of friendlies are around your base as opposed to the enemies. By the same logic, this power up wouldn't be as useful for bomb rushes unless very well organized.
Blight: While you can still heal with f, your d attack is replaced with a defense lowering effect on enemy planes. By the same logic mentioned above, you could greatly hinder defensive stands by enemies by engulfing large numbers of them while they make their stand.
Farseer: Same effects as archangel, though with twice the radius and a third of the effect (think of it in terms of area, not radius, and it's clear that the effect would need to be cut more to be fair). This plane wouldn't be used as strategically on defensive or offensive rushes, but could be used in mid points to boost ally strength over a large area. Same ideas as above, but to a different purpose.
Finally, the way this plane would gain kill points would be that every time a friendly kills an enemy under a positive effect, it gains a half of a kill, and every time a friendly kills an enemy when it's using a harmful effect (Blight), it gets half a kill.
This plane would create a totally different play-style and promote teamwork. I support its creation, even if it will obviously take time.

Yeah I think the general idea is great. A lot of people have mentioned this kind of idea so I'm sure it will be taken into consideration.
I've also thought about a somewhat similar idea for a utility or engineer style plane which doesn't attack but can alter the terrain somehow, maybe slowing down enemy planes, healing its teammates, creating temporary gun turrets or bases... something like that.

couldn't there be a plane which is something like a spy, like from team fortress 2 (i have tried it a few times thats all). i like the general idea but there has to be more creative ideas.
