Hi! i was reading Palin's battle language thread and nesnl said something about colored names. I know of something called 'hex code'. It allows you to add colors to your nickname!

It also allows you to make your name bold, italicized, etc...

I'm having a hard enough time with nicks such as SuPaHaxX0rZ_1995 as it is, seeing it with alternating pink, cyan and yellow would blow my brains out.

You could only use it for FFA games. Changing your name to match the other team's color would be too easy.

If done right, it is actually not bad at all and actually aids in identifying people easier. I think that link makes it look annoying. I will try to post some pics when I get a chance.

And it should be possible to disable it. (i.e. that I can choose to see nicks without the color stuff)

I think it might be cool, as long as we have options to disable it in our views.


It might be a hassle though because I can see having it enabled, then having one person like "SWN XxXCoR3XxX" in like 50 different colors coming along and annoying the hell outta me and forcing me to disable it mid-game

Wouldn't it be just one colour per name?
Would be a lot of effort to implement probably for not much benefit.
Would it get confusing when identifying teammates/enemies?
