After reading through the bomber hate thread, I think this is getting ridiculous.
Has anyone else noticed that the community can't put out hate for one plane/perk for more then a week at a time before going after another one.
I mean really guys, come on. I can go find some posts of vets calling tracker overpowered to further my point if needed. I'm sure everyone hates some perk because it counters their favorite plane/perk, but this is just getting ridiculous.
All in favor of ending this mindless hate?

There is no skill/value balance.
The main problem of this is lag. With lag things become unbalanced. Without it a miranda could run away from loopy missiles, in practicality when yous ee them you're dead (at least with lag).
Balancing around lag I see no end.

This is an internet forum, and an internet game community. If you can't deal with random balance/perk hate, you'd probably best leave because this isn't gonna end anytime soon :p

Eth's right, but still I have to thank sins for giving it a try. Just because things are a certain way doesn't mean they should be.
I think the real problem here is that the developers listen so closely to us. I know that sounds ass-backwards, but hear me out. Say you're flying your shiny little HC Biplane around thinking you're the king of Alti (or Queen, as the case may be). Suddenly, out of nowhere, a Loopy comes. This isn't just any Loopy, it's one of those really irritating ones that follows you around no matter where you try to go and just keeps EMPing you until you die. Soon, your little "buddy" has turned your respectable ratio to mush with missile spam, EMP, etc, etc, etc. Now, feeling both angry and down on yourself, you look for a way to express your irritation.
Enter, the Forums.
And these aren't just any forums. Wooooooooo no. In THESE forums, the devs listen to their players and make actual changes to the game based on what said players suggest. Here it is! Here's your chance! Now you can take revenge on that stupid Loopy and all his bretheren by drumming up enough outrage and hoopla to have their treasured Red Perk taken away! You can even get it replaced by something easy for you to kill!! Oh the possibilities, oh the revenge, OH THE NERD RAGE!!!!
Get the gist? I'm not saying the close relationship we have with our devs is bad. Quite the contrary. Its the way players abuse the system that leads to such petty and useless threads like the Bomber hate one.

On a more serious note, it's the same everywhere, even in Starcraft.
There's always that 1a2a3a imba joke about Protoss, zergs were destroying protoss pretty much all the time a few weeks ago so "OMG ZERG IMBA" threads were created every 5 minutes on teamliquid, and a terran player is currently dominating the proscene so there are of course multiple "OMG TERRAN IMBA" threads.
Whatever you do, people will complain.
If you play the game (Altitude, not SC) right now, you can kill and be killed with/by every plane. Especially if you're skilled, as most people here are.
I don't even answer to that bomber thread because I know it's useless.

Very true tyr.. I find any game becomes a lot less fun for me if I worry to much about balance issues. I'd rather just leave it up to the developers. If they do a really ****ty job, I just quit.

The bomber thread was not about balance, wasnt it about how boring the bomber is?
Also, the game can be perfectly balanced and still be boring or annoying.
Spam is boring for example, emp and thermo are annoying... that doesnt mean those planes are unbalanced.

Always have hated Miranda and always will. The magic lag kill without seeing the miranda fire or move is probably the best example that makes me reach for the nitro pills.
No other plane even comes close, overpowered or not.
As others of said, always will be complaints. Some legit, some not...especially after an update that tweaks one of the planes.
