Great response for teams im happy. Ok i will need to close registration by 12pm GMT Sun 20th Dec to allow myself time to develop a suitable format. I deliberately set the date to a rest day from work so i can be there all day and night if need be. If a winner cant be established on that date the captains of the teams involved will be encouraged to re-shcedule matchups.

May i ask that captains add me in game for organisational reasons. Also i see no need for screenies of results to be taken as the competitive scene is relativly small and we all more or less know each other {electronically} lol.

I am assuming that PL servers will be available and lobster cove also so we have plenty of server space. Also Storm or Tyr, Kuja, Evil may want to be on hand to allow a smooth running for map changes, Start/Stop tournament e.t.c however if this isn't possible votes will suffice.

Well KLF managed to go through the demo tourney in around 2 hours, but that was bcuz only 5 ppl showed.....

The length of the whole thing depending on how many clans sign up and the mood of classic's bawse.

The easiest way to do it all in one day would be to grab 8 teams and make a single elimination bracket. Then a schedule like...

1 PM - Quarter Finals 1 and 2 (bo3)
2 PM - Quarter Finals 3 and 4 (bo3)
3 PM - Semi Finals (bo3)
4 PM - Final (bo5)

maybe it's better to make 2 groups of 4 - the better 2 get to the semi-finals and then the finals

this way - the losing teams will play 3 matches, while the winner will have to play 5.

Although it would make 21 matches ( instead of 7 (after your scheme))...hmmm which would mean that the tourney would last about 10 hours - and this is already about the will of Class, if he wants it that long.

or!

we also could also include looser's tourney. this way =>

Quater finals - 4 matches
Semi-finals - 2 matches + lost team's semi-finals - 2 matches
finals - for both brunches
and a super final
This makes 11 games and about 5-6 hours the whole tournament.

dunno if it's kinda unfair - but it makes more sense, since the "worst" teams get at least 2 chances.

I know my alternative isn't very fun for the teams that lose, but I have just 2 things to add:

1) I was pointing the easiest way to do this effectively in one day. By easy I don't mean just a simple elimination process. Think of the servers. I assume we have 3 servers: PL1, PL2 and PLalternative. Doing groups would require a lot more servers to do it all in one day.

2) This also brings up the time issue. You can't ask a team to have 5 players online for 10 consecutive hours, much less 8 teams with 5 players online each, so this would have to be shortened to one afernoon (for americans)/ 1 night (for europeans). Hence my suggestion of doing single elimination bracket and do it all within 4 hours.

I don't know where you live York but i know that GMT is EST+5 hours, use the converter to find the times, it is then your responsibility to pass this information on to your team to ensure maximum turnout on matchday.

Please note: Matchups were developed using a randomizer, also as a result of 11 teams entering byes had to be given which were also randomized.

You talk like random couldn't get you these results. What are the odds of any of the teams being divided up the way they are? It's pretty freaking small considering there are 11 teams and 11 spots. 11! = 39916800 ways if placing 11 teams in 11 spots if you assume once a team has been placed they can't be placed again. This outcome is just as likely as any of those other ridiculous amounts of outcomes.

then quarter finals:
FN - TEam Sandwich = Team Sandwinch wins
JC - TH = TH if JC doesnt pull out a miracle
DW - Bong's B. = Not sure for this one at all could be anyone...lets say by position in APL...DW wins
IL - TC = IL wins

then semi-finals:

In tournements like this, there is reallty no knowing who comes in second or third. the team that ends up winning could have their hardest match in the beginning, against the 2nd best team, eliminate them, and go on to win. so even though they got out in the first round, it does't mean they're bad. get it? so for all the teams that get emiminated in the first round, dont think that they're bad, they just got an unlucky match.

can you please specify the servers once again class? Is there a possibility to play at the KLF's Castle? is it hosted in Britain?
Since a considerable part of DW comes from Russia - it would be very helpful (both for those russian DW members as for the rest and the opposition) to play on a european server. Because on PL servers it's quite often that some of the guys have 250/300+ ping, which obviously makes the whole thing laggy.
I mean, that some of the guys geographically live 5000 km from London - which is still ok (at this distance pings are about 120-140)...but american servers are much further.

Servers and times are set, To allow a smooth running tourney i would prefer matches not be re-scheduled. As far as servers go, It is the responsibility of the team captains to agree a suitable server to play on. The KLF castle is a U.S.A based server so probably not much use to DW.

natural started a vote to kick bukem while we were in the middle of a game with bukem playing. if he had the reason lag thean we should have been able to kick kuja.

Please don't swear in the league servers wolf'j'max. If an admin sees you mouthing off like that I wouldn't be surprised if they kicked or banned you. Just be polite and bring up your problems politely. It is obviously unfortunate about the lag and the kick vote, but I don't think that it warrants your behavior.

Ya if someone is just being annoying so much that it detracts from the game ignore them / mute them or just deal with it. People will whine and bitch about everything - especially if it hurts them. Even my team whined about lag on a bomb that was definitely not lag bombed. Sorry that your experience was hurt like that =(

I muted him as yiu can see at the pic but i heard from flight and others that he kept swearing.

Notice: maimer i respect your comment but i just couldn't handle it after everything he said at that point. That was our second game and also our 25th minute of being yelled i think thats enough. I will keep your comment in mind because sitting here at the moment i agree.

why, its a tournament that has no skill rating attached to any team? How did we know J.C. was the worst, cuz their not, how would we rank TH and Team Sandwich? And total control?

Each match wasnt just a shutout, many teams came in of 2 experienece of winning, most matches are shutouts anyways if u look at the Team Liquid League and Summer League

I mean, why would we set up a fun tournament to knock out the weak teams first? Give everyone a chance, its not APL yet,
